To Whom it May Concern:

I am seeking a position as a health and physical education teacher; I would like to be considered a candidate for any position available. I believe I have the qualities, skills and abilities needed to fill the position.

I have recently graduated from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Health and Physical Education Degree with a 3.8GPA/Summa Cum Laude. As you may know Slippery Rock University is known for teaching excellence. My classes have prepared me for a meaningful career in Health and Physical Education. Further, I have current certification in First Aid, CPR and AED. I also have the required Act 34, Act 114 and Act 151 Child Abuse Clearances.

I know that I can maximize individual student potential, help in promoting the entire educational process and prepare students to becoming responsible citizens. I am dedicated to enthusiastic and dynamic teaching as a means of creating and nurturing a lifelong love of knowledge of physical education in children and youth.

I also have an extensive background in martial arts training and instruction. I have taught in the Slippery Rock Area School District in a variety of different formats including an after-school martial arts program, a full day of self-defense instruction for 9^th through 12^th grade, school talks on courtesy/respect and student participated demonstrations.

I have formerly been on staff as a youth director at Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church where I utilized lesson planning and active planning of events and activities. I am the coach of a competitive martial arts team that travels in the region. I welcome the opportunity to expand my teaching experience into other classroom settings in order to secure a position in an education field.
